For the past 4 years I have facilitated an after-school art program at Nsoroma Institute PSA, which is located in the Osborn area. The current program entitled Inspired Future (I.F.) is dedicated to the mission to use art as a catalyst for inspiring current and future generations to engage in environmental awareness and action. We educate urban youth, families, and communities about changing the condition of urban areas as it relates to recycling, reducing waste, and renewable energy sources. We carry out this mission by providing opportunities for youth to learn about and engage in environmental activism through art experientials, field trips, and earth "friendly" cultural events. Current participants are in fourth through eighth grade.

I would like to use some of the ideas from the youth in I.F. to do a series of public artworks that promote the need for environmental awareness and action. I am very interested in working in the public arts arena and welcome the opportunity to be paired up with others in the Osborn area to create artwork that inspires and engages the community to become active participants in shaping a positive environment. Over the past 4 years I have worked with Nsoroma’s art teacher Adeboye Adegbenro and welcome the opportunity to work with him in the future.
